Celebrated Hungarian guitarist Gabor Szabo was still in the relatively early stages of his career when he recorded this live album for the Impulse! label in 1967. The sessions took place at The Jazz Workshop in Boston, when Szabo was joined by Jimmy Stewart on guitar, Lajos Kabok on bass, Marty Morell on drums and Hal Gordon on percussion. As Douglas Payne commented in a review of the celebrated album, "the interplay within the group is something to behold" and when you take in their versions of such classics as 'The Beat Goes On' and 'What Is This Thing Called Love?', you'd be hard pressed to disagree.
