SYNOD "NOBODY'S JUKEBOX" (U.S.PRIVATE) 1972 SUPER THICK GATEFOLD IS VG+ SOME AGE WEAR SMALL WRITING ON BACK DISC IS EX JUT A FEW LITE MARKS
Synod was a Midwest local rock band operating in and around the state of Illinois based on the liner notes. This underground private outing dances around stylistically with folk, garage, funk, rock and AOR songs. The heavy duty textured gatefold packaging is a plus. The singing/vocals are FANTASTIC on this platter Side I’s opener ‘Let The Music Play’ brings a killer fuzz guitar arrangement and kicks things off with a standout track. ‘Hard Times’ is the most commercial sounding song with AOR rock vibes coupled with beefy guitar riffs. The funky swirling ‘Future Shock’ closes Side I with a nice touch. Side II starts well with the garage pop rocker ‘Call On You’ and then slides into funky 1970’s moves with the organ/Christian fueled ‘The Right Way’. More fuzz guitar drops on ‘The Nature Of Things’ round out the better material. a hip private underground piece of wax for the private press collector market.
