San Francisco's Sylvester cut through the disco era like no one else and this reissue captures the moment he went from local hero to international icon. The set opens with two tracks that need no introduction - 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)' and 'Dance (Disco Heat)' - still among the most joyous and liberating records ever to hit a dancefloor. The rest shows Sylvester's range, from the gospel-tinged uplift of 'Grateful' to the tender slow jam 'Was It Something That I Said'. This edition also piles on a suite of remixes, from Soulwax's muscular rework to Bright Light Bright Light's sparkling update, all proving the music's influence is still burning bright nearly half a century on.
