Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by, Syd Barrett, The Madcap Laughs.
This was released by Harvest Records in 1970 and has catalogue number SHVL765. This was pressed in the UK and is stereo, please check the pictures for clarification.
Matrix: SHVL 765 A- 2G SHVL 765 B- 2G
Condition: The gatefold sleeve has a light discolour ring seen on the top of the rear and the bottom of the front, a few small lamination creases seen along the spine edge, buffing to the corners and one very discreet scuff mark seen appox 1 inch from the bottom front of the sleeve . Spine and edges fine, no tears, bends or creases, lamination at mouth is fine, the centre is ex with no discolour marks and still creaks a little when opened. graded at a conservative VG+.
This comes with its original patent Harvest advertising inner sleeve which has some light discolouring marks ut is otherwise fine, no edge splits.
Both labels are clean and look new, under closer examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole is perfect and shows no signs of wear.
The vinyl retains its new shine, when held under a strong light a few hairline scratches and some dust marks can be seen. I have given this a play and it has excellent audio. the above mentioned scratches are completely non-audible. Other than the occasional quiet crackle (probably dust) this plays with very little lessening in sound quality and certainly does not suffer from any reduction through wear as this has certainly not been overplayed. The music itself plays strong and clear with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever.
The vinyl for this is graded at a conservative VG+, with near mint audio. Down-graded because it has been played more than a few times and does have feather scratches.
