Description
First edition of this LP featuring the Orchestra of the Accademia Di Santa Cecilia, Rome conducted by Alberto Erede. During Bands 1 & 2 of Side 1 there is some low level but persistent surface noise, this clears up somewhat during Bands 3 & 4. Bands 5 & 6 Exhibit some distortion on the loudest peaks & there is a light tick at 3.00 of Band 5. There is surface noise during Band 1 of Side 2 with a brief burst of hiss at 2.40. Band 2, Side 2 is better. There is a light tick at 2.55 of Band 3 & some distortion on the loudest notes at the end of the piece ('Cecilia" by Refice). The clairfoil is lifting quite a bit around the jacket opening. There are a couple of dirty marks on the back cover. There a a few small but easily visible scratches on the playing surfaces & the appearance of the grooves in places (usually coincident with the distortion) shows that this record has been played on a poor stylus at some stage. There are quite a lot of spindle marks on the labels. Includes original inner sleeve.
All records are vacuum cleaned on a KAB ev-1 record cleaner & listened through to once in their entirety off a new Ortofon stylus. Records are removed from sleeves before posting in custom mailers with 2 stiffeners. Records are placed in a brand new inner sleeve & the whole package placed in a polythene sleeve to protect it in transit. I will only post this record 1st class recorded delivery within the UK & 'international signed for' overseas. This comes with insurance of £46. If your purchases exceed this amount then I strongly advise you to contact me before completing any transactions to arrange additional cover (this only costs £2 or £3 extra depending on where you are).
