Description

Very nice condition copy of this 1959 release on Decca Records (SXL 2026) with the original Wide Band and grooved label and "Original Recording by..." rim text (ED1).   Alfredo Campoli (violin) plays Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 and Max Bruch's "Scottish Fantasia" Op.46 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Adrian Boult.

Condition is near mint.  The sleeve (which is not a "blue-back" unfortunately) is clean and glossy with no tears, creases or seam splits.  On the back of the sleeve there is a tiny amount of very, very faint blue biro on the top right corner but this really doesn't show up at all.

The playing surfaces are visually in near mint condition with no obvious scratches, scuffs or abrasions.  Playback is very quiet (with great sound quality) but there are some really tiny crackles during the loudest and busiest passages.  This is about as good as it gets for a record of this age.

I should point out that since listing this item I have noticed that the laminate on the foldovers on the rear of the sleeve has started to peel very slightly.  This item had been on my shelf for quite a few years but now that it has been taken off the shelf this problem has started to occur.  I will not attempt to repair it as it is not too bad yet but there is a risk in the longer term that the peeling could spread to the front.  I have it in a clear plastic sleeve and it will be sent like this to the winning bidder.
