SXL 2009 w/b+g Ed.1 – BERLIOZ : SYMPHONIE FANTASTIQUE – ARGENTA, PARIS CONSERVATOIRE
1958 Decca stereo recording on wideband and groove label Ed.1 catalogue no. SXL 2009. Ataulfo Argenta conducting the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra in Symphonie Fantastique Op.14 by Berlioz.
The disc is clean and shiny. On side 1 there is a brief faint crackle at start followed by 17 noticeable ticks; 3 faint random ticks elsewhere plus a light inaudible 1cm scratch. Side 2 has no visible or audible defects. The thin card flipback sleeve is intact but has some creasing at edges and corners. The laminate on front is not detached but has lifted from the backing in some areas. Original ffss inner.
