Description
SXL 2001, Tchaikovsky 1812, Alwyn, WBG ED 1
Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture - Capriccio Italien - Marche Slave.
Kenneth Alwyn and The London Symphony Orchestra, with The Band of H.M. Grenadier Guards. UK pressed Decca stereo LP, SXL 2001. Earliest black/silver grooved pressing, 2K/4K matrices, "Original Recording..." perimeter lettering. Thin rear backflaps sleeve. This is one of a number of LPs I recently acquired which were part of an obviously very well looked after private collection. They have never been up for sale before and condition is excellent throughout.
Vinyl in superb condition. Very little evidence of marks around the spindle areas, and playing surfaces are free of marks, save for a couple of the very lightest and tiniest of superficial and non-sounding hairlines. Both vinyl and labels still have a nice as new sheen to them. Clearly barely played.
Sleeve also in extremely clean and bright condition. A minute stain spot to top right hand corner of rear sleeve, very unobtrusive.
Period blue print FFSS inner sleeve present and in superb condition.
Not the rarest SXL, but a really super copy of this LP, which rarely turns up in clean and undamaged condition.
Grab yourself a chance to obtain what is now a very dwindling number of these early audiophile LPs which have had just one careful owner since original purchase.
