The Swinging Blue Jeans would be the standard bearers for the Merseybeat sound of the mid-'60s if it weren't for that other Liverpool group called the Beatles. The Blue Jeans played the same R&B and rock & roll covers as that other group, even did a similar residency at the legendary Cavern Club as that other group did, and at their best, even sounded like them. Unfortunately, the Blue Jeans weren't quite the songwriters that the Beatles were, and while their covers of songs like Betty Everett's "You're No Good" (later a huge hit for Linda Ronstadt) sound fresh and inspired, hundreds of bands were all doing these same songs. That these guys were doing them better than most still left them as essentially a really good Liverpool bar band without a strong creative direction to give them any real singularity. This collection shows both the Swinging Blue Jeans' strengths and weaknesses. They played and sang with a wonderfully joyous energy, but so did that other band, and that other band just happened to write really good songs. History turned on just that point.  Finding a still sealed original MONO copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.

(a)          THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID)

(b)          The record is believed to come in its original stock inner sleeve.

(c)             The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

COVER IS (WEAK) NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP   ((A SMALL PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a round sticker residue (yellowish discoloration from the removed price sticker) in one small area not covered by the shrink wrap (nothing significant); we 'tested' the spot and we can confirm that the residue can be removed (scraped or wiped off) with a persistent effort without harming the cover.

-         Front cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record),  probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage.  (FAINTLY VISIBLE ON FRONT SIDE ONLY; NOTHING MAJOR) The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine  (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged  / bent.

-         Cover has two tiny, almost invisible, pinholes (or staple holes) in one corner. These tiny holes are NOT cutout holes.

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No yellowing from aging

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.
