Decent copy of the rare 1963 surf rock compilation LP, Surf’s Up! At the Banzai Pipeline, on Northridge NM-101. Features wonderful LA surf tracks by the Surfaris, the Soul Kings, Dave Meyers and the Surftones, Jim Waller and the Deltas, Doug Hume, The Biscaynes, Bob Vaught and the Renegaids, Bob Hafner, and Neil Nissenson. Lots of great surf classics that aren’t available anywhere else. I’m calling the disc VG because it has some scuffing and a few light marks but it really isn’t bad like VG suggests. It is really more like VG+, I think, but it plays with some light crackle between tracks, so I don’t like to say VG+, even though it looks that way. The crackle is very light and completely disappears when the music is playing. The music is mastered really loud and it immediately drowns out any background crackle at all. Plays just beautifully, really loud and clear. The cover is also amazingly clean with only the faintest ringwear and very minor edge and corner wear, but no seam splits or creases or anything like that. Really crisp and clean. A remarkably beautiful copy of this rare surf masterpiece. Really a rocking comp.
