PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SUPER RARE Original 1968 first pressing on the obscure "Hogfat" private label ... a brilliant lost obscurity by lost highway rambler, Mark Levine, who had the connections...
A very obscure and nearly impossible-to-find piece of American acid folk-rock recorded in 1968 by Mark LeVine — an underground Dylanesque singer-songwriter, here backed up by top-notch musicians like, the complete GOLDENROD band, Ry Cooder and Mike Deasy. A complex and enjoyable piece of music from the outer fringes of the late ’60s featuring explicit lyrics (sex & drugs), and trippy liner notes and cover art. This album has the look and feel of the Columbia LPs of its time. It’s long (50 minutes), has babbling liner notes from Mark Levine and lots of pstos of the members involved, and Levine the singer-songwriter is backed by an absolutely ace group of musicians. Dylan comparisons are inevitable: Levine doesn’t have much of a voice but his singing projects plenty of personality and humor, and his lyrics are complex in both personal and abstract ways. The music is folk-rock with a bluesy edge (courtesy of Cooder’s guitars). Half the time it sounds like Levine was trying to make the greatest album ever, and the other half it just sound like he’s having fun with his buddies, and the record is appealing on both levels. The lyrics are often obscene, and are frank and explicit about sex and drugs. This must have been quite shocking at the time and gives the album a real underground hippie feel. The opening and closing songs (two sides of the same coin, lyrically) are the most instantly likeable, but there’s a lot of depth here. This isn’t background music; you’ll want to pay attention to the lyrics. This is one of the most enjoyable and fascinating singer-songwriter albums of the era.- Goin’ To The Country

CONDITION: The Cover: Great obscure psychy designed cover art with band photos on back, it's solid and clean, near "EX" (excellent) and better, the white cover is white would imagine this cover would be hard to find in any better shape. No split seams, no bends, no writing
The Vinyl: All glossy & shiny over both sides. Overall a hard one to grade as it's with a few (only a few) stray visible hairlines, so visually VG+ would be conservative, and plays VG+ to EXcellent with some light surface and low ticks ... given the fact of lo-fi private pressing, the audio was not with distracting here...a lot of the Lp plays excellent ...overall expect an enjoyable listen of this ultimate collection rarity, even with some surface, it's all part of the charm ...from the Americana hippie underground of 1968
