PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. THE WAILERS
WAIL!
USA - GOLDEN CREST - CR 3075 - MONO
SUPER RARE = MINT = TOP COPY Original 1965 first pressing in glorious MONO with the bold dense and raw production... These mid sixties WAILERS were on par with the SONICS from the Pacific North West playing a primitive brand of hellacious rock & roll....
The music on this album is tremendous raunchy garage rhythm & blues / rock'n roll. Keith Richards has said this music influenced the early Rolling Stones; George Harrison said he listened to them, and the Beatles were fans of The Fabulous Wailers. Van Morrison said that the first tune he learned to play was the Wailers first hit, "Tall Cool One." Jimi Hendrix used to watch and listen to them play. This 1965 Lp is by far their finest album, including their finest moments: a suitably cathartic ‘Dirty Robber’ as well as the riot "Shanghaied", the raunchy , not to forget the tortured, teasing, ‘Lone Gone’, and so on....Formed 1957 in Tacoma, Washington, USA, the Wailers were a tough rock ‘n’ roll band which became extremely popular in the Pacific Northwest region of the USA in the late 50s and early 60s. The Wailers were contemporaries of the Kingsmen, Paul Revere And The Raiders and the Sonics, all of whom also specialized in ‘garage-rock’. Signed to Golden Crest Records, their first single, ‘Tall Cool One’, made the US Top 40; the follow-up single, ‘Mau-Mau’, was not as successful, although ‘Tall Cool One’ enjoyed a second chart run in 1964. The group formed its own Etiquette Records in 1960 and, with Rockin’ Robin Roberts on vocals, recorded a version of ‘Louie Louie’ - the group claims it was the first from that region to record the song, although, owing to lack of national distribution, both the Kingsmen and Raiders versions enjoyed the hits. The Wailers continued to record until 1968 when they disbanded. Their small catalogue is worthy of investigation To
