Our retail store (of 21 years) was abruptly forced out of business.  The U.S. economy began it's imminent collapse one week later.  coincidence?  Now we are quite happy to liquidate our remaining store stock online.

RARE ORIGINAL UK (9 LP) BOXSET PRESSING FROM 1984

This boxset is SO cool.  Typical of Charly productions, every care was taken in the assembly of this amazing set. The booklet and 9 different inner sleeves are amazing.   Exhaustive liner notes, tons of rare photos and press clippings, great graphic layout, and superior mastering for vinyl are all on board here.   In fact, the vinyl sounds GREAT.   The majority of the tracks sound like they were taken directly from the master tapes- really clean and clear.   BOATLOADS of unreleased takes and alternates, all presented with the usual attention to detail and great care that we associate with the great Charly label.

The vinyl is nice & clean.   Most of the 9 records are in NM/NM- condition.   Disc #5, Side 10 is VG+, it has a few tiny (3/16")  marks which I would qualify as "scratches", but they do not make the record skip, there are about 10 pops at the beginning of track 4 (Prison Bound Blues)   A couple of the records have faint signs of paper sleeve rubbing, just from being in a heavy boxset box, and that's only apparent if you look at the vinyl in bright angled light.  In average indoor lighting the records look unplayed.   The labels are all minty fresh except disc # 3 which has some damage which occured during the pressing process (Two labels got glued on top of one another and one was removed).   I'll put up a photo if someone wants....let me know!

The album sized book is in great shape.  It is a 42 page book, an archive of the awesome 1950's SUN Blues recordings.  The book has some light wear, one tiny (1/8") stain, but no rips tears or writing.

The 9 inner sleeves are mostly in VG+/VG++ shape.  Most (8 of 9) have bottom split seams (1" to 2") and two have side splits (under 1").   They are otherwise in great shape. 

The box is in excellent shape.  It still has the top of the box attached to the bottom of the box - with the very thin original strip of paper affixed to each side.   None of the corners are split on this box!   The ribbon used to open the box is intact in it's binding.  There is some light wear, but no major problems!

This boxset weighs 5 pounds, unboxed!   It is quite heavy and will be packaged as securely as possible, in and outside the box, to avoid any thrashing about.   Priority Mail Only!!!
