The album was a radical break in Sun Ra's music of that time - made with "previous notions of melody or harmony".
Although heavily percussive, the music also dispenses with a continuous beat; instead Ra's music is reconstructed around "interweaving compositional and improvisatory creative principles with programmatic affects".
The album was originally released as with a B/W sleeve designed by Ra himself.
Gene Tyranny describes the album in his review as;
"The astonishing sessions that went light years beyond "free jazz" improvisation to create a music of deeply felt explosive and gentle gesture made from sound itself without reference to previous notions of melody or harmony"

Clean, bright and unmarked labels with possibly just one ultra light spindle mark
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces retain their original deep glossy sheen and appear unmarked in normal light (apart from some blemishes within the vinyl - endemic to North American pressings) and some very light wisp hairlines visible under bright light
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT (very strictly graded)
Lovely copy which plays extremely well throughout with no major audio issues of note.
Played only once (or twice) on top quality equipment the sound performance is crystal clear and incredibly immediate with just some light soft ticks and a few intermittent louder clicks noted (nothing too major at all) - but there are no scratches or other audible distractions present.
Just about the finest playing copy you could wish for, certainly the cleanest I have heard (and much of this music is very, very quiet)
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
The original 1965/6 thick card matt cover is clean and unmarked with no splits and only the lightest of rubbing to the black colour on the front/spine - otherwise, like-new
