THESE LPs ARE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AND IT'S BEEN DIFFICULT TO PART WITH ANY OF THEM

Considered one of the more accessible recordings from his 'Solar' period.
Originally released on Ra's own Saturn label in 1965, the record was unavailable for many years before being reissued on CD in 2008.
"Marking a transition in its development between the advanced swing of the early Chicago-era recordings and the increased free-form experimentation of its New York tenure, this album features two of Ra's most enduring pieces, the otherworldly plaintiveness of "Friendly Galaxy" which finds accord with the moody exotica of "Love in Outer Space. Accessible, yet segueing into vanguard territory, this album highlights a fertile period in the Arkestra's history. Looser and more aggressive than its Chicago recordings, these pieces find the Arkestra pushing at the limits of harmony and tonality.' (Troy Collins)

Clean, bright and unmarked labels with no spindle traces or signs of use
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT+
Both surfaces retain their original deep glossy sheen.
There are one or two superficial pressing blemishes and pressing 'dimples' (inherent in these small scale independent pressing) but none of these have any significant audio impact.
Pressed in very, very small numbers -  El Saturn Records purchased no advertising, gave out no promotional copies for review, and no distribution channels were available except mail order, hand delivery to the record shops, and, in the southern tradition, sales from the bandstand after performances
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT+
One of the cleaner sounding original 1960s Saturn presses with just the (very) occasional light touch of background (most notable between the tracks) but absolutely no other audio distractions - no scratches and no loud clicks or pops - plays beautifully throughout - this copy has seen little (if any) play
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
The original thick card matt cover is clean and unmarked with no splits or wear - beautifully preserved example
