Original Mono Vinyl LP from 1969. Tip-on cover. "Saturn" script in run-outs.
Vinyl:
The record looks amazing but does have some very obvious surface noise/pops at the beginning of Side A that decreases as the tracks progress. Side B has noise as well but not as bad.
Having had another copy to compare this to I can definitely say that this seems to be something with the Thoth pressings. As I said, the pressing itself looks miraculously clean. There are a few light paper marks, but absolutely nothing that looks even remotely like it would cause a tick, yet it does have surface noise. The other copy I compared this to is very similar.
Center Labels:
Very clean. Barely any spindle marks on the center labels, so it would seem it was rarely played.
Jacket:
The jacket is miraculous. The jacket is really where it's at with this copy. I can't emphasize enough the quality of the jacket alone with this particular copy, if only for a replacement sleeve! When I originally saw this, I thought it was one of those recent Scorpio represses, because the cover is so perfectly clean! It truly looks like new! There are no seam splits, no ring wear, the corners are even amazingly crisp! No foxing, no tears, no stickers. See pictures. There is just a very slight, slight, roughness to the mouth of jacket which is barely even worth the mention. You can also see this is authentic by the natural cardboard color of the inner part of the jacket. It's not white inside like a newer pressing would be. I don't hesitate to say the jacket is NM!
