Description
What It Is:
This is a vinyl pressing of a live performace by Sun Ra and John Cage on June 8, 1986, in Coney Island, NY. These are unedited segments of the historic concert that was part of the "Sideshows by the Seashore". Improvisations and songs by Sun Ra and Cage's indeterminate performance vocals based on strict composition methods are contrasted and find a common meeting ground as, toward the end of the session, they play together. Fascinating and in genuine communal spirit.
This copy is in excellent condition, and autographed "Love, Sun Ra". I did not get this autograph myself, but it appears completely consistent with another copy of this item signed by Sun Ra, documented on popsike.com (see http://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php?itemnr=120293951942).

(visual) VG++ . no spindle marks, no scratches. just a little scuffing on the edges of the disk.
(play-graded) VG+ / VG++ . The outer portions of the disk have more surface noise, which diminishes towards the inside of the disk. It's not particularly disturbing, as the recorded noise (from the hall and recording more than the stage performance) is greater than the surface noise.
Grading standards:
All items are visually graded, and if they've been play graded that will be noted. I follow Goldmine grading standards. My grading is conservative, at least as good as I would expect from anyone that I would buy from.Payment:

I usually insist on airmail for reasonable delivery time and better handling. Unfortunately I can't offer free insurance as it often gets quite expensive for overseas shipment, however, I strongly advise that you select insurance as I cannot be responsible for delivery in another country.
A note about customs declarations: I will mark all auction wins as merchandise and list the winning bid as its value. Please don't ask to have it marked as a gift, or at a lesser price -- that only risks legal action (because it is fraud), and if customs opens the item they will probably charge you a customs fee anyway if they think that it goes over the legal value of a gift.
