There was a time that Cameron Crowe's boutique, vinyl-only record label (Vinyl Films Records) was going to release Sun Kil Moon's "Universal Themes." Test Pressings were manufactured and everything was fine.
However, be it a rights issue or something else, the vinyl version of this masterpiece ended up coming out on Rough Trade instead. Vinyl Films Records never released it. Seriously, just the regular Rough Trade release is tough enough to find. I'm sure those Rough Trade test pressings are near impossible.
And then there's this!
The UNRELEASED "Vinyl Films Records" Test Pressing. This is a Test Pressing to a record that never came out on this label. Look at the pictures and check that release # out on Discogs. It's not there because there's no release! Buuuuut...I got one of the Test Pressings back in 2015 before it jumped to Rough Trade. (Also, it's RTI, so it sounds freaking great.)
This is the rarest piece of vinyl I have sold in 25 years.
