Hello Fellow "Sublime" Brothers and Sisters!
It's the "GMan" here once again,...and Iam wondering if I can get an “AMEN”!!!!!
Point up to the sky and thank the LORD,….We got something REALLY spectacular sent down from the HEAVENS,….& From “sublime” right here!!!!....
As you all know, (or should) this is one of THE most sought after "sublime" collectables out there,.....that's right, it's the
"Jah Won't Pay the Bills"
ORIGINAL cassette!
- SOME HISTORY: Right about the time sublime was going to blow up on our West coast with the release of "40 oz. to Freedom", the band released this little gem that featured the 4 songs that were on the 1st cassette by the boys- "c003", as well as 6 new songs. This is, to say the least, a true collectors dream!
- INFORMATION:
- This was sublime's 2nd "official" release, post-dating the c003 cassette,...and was released in 1991 on Skunk with production credits going to "Elephant Levitation".
- The "Jah" cassette is also known as the "c005" cassette, has a fold out J-card, Copyrighted 1990!, and contains the way old school address of "275 Redondo, Ste.#301" which I have only seen on this particular piece of sublime history.
- Contact info, "Thanks" and the guys' names are on the J-Card; as well as Louie, Ras, and Toby Dog!
- Lastly, there were only a small number (said to be 250) of these cassettes produced, and who knows how many survived over the last 16 YEARS!- GET YOURS WHILE YOU CAN.
- From a collectors' stand point, I would consider this cassette to be in MINT condition. Plays perfectly, and the cassette and J-Card are in great shape! (See pics below.)
