Description

On offer here is a "gem" a  superb,stunning and  excellent example of the legendary GX4000 D tape deck.This was my father-in-laws machine, he passed away 20 years ago and it has remained unused, wrapped and boxed all this time that is until today when I opened it for taking the photos.I was astounded at its superb condition.It comes with original packaging and original manual.This deck is as near as new as it is possible to get.It runs like a dream,so quiet the difference in sound quality when compared to a 4000DS MK II is staggeringly superior.   This model represents the last in the 4000 range apart from the GX 4000 db.This machine is technically and sonicly superior to the earlier popular 4000 ds mkII.The GX heads offering a lifetime of around 150,000 hours of use  producing a higher frequency response,improved signal to noise ratio and a much improved wow and flutter specification.This machine also has a headphone volume adjustment knob and separate switch for sound on sound recording. You will probably already know about its superior build,reliability and performance qualities especially the glass and crystal ferrite heads.If you dont know there is a wealth of information on the net to inform and I have posted a link for you to go to below.   

The successful bidder will receive original packaging,original instructions and 2 reels 1 of which including tape.The 2 reels shown will be auctioned separately.

The winning  bidder will receive this item in the Akai box then wrapped again so that the original box retains its current condition without damage from the brown sticky tape I use. 

 

I have thoroughly checked all functions and of course everything works as they always should eg.Playback,record,F.Forward and rewind.Counter,VU meters + lights.Sound on sound,sound with sound.A wonderful example of a legend.Heads have been cleaned and de-magged.
