- CONDITION -
- Sleeve - shows 'storage' record-shaped impression (NOT wear) and a TINY 'nick' in top opening (above and just to the right of the second 'S' in 'Stranglers'), all minor and otherwise fine.
- Vinyl - the 'SBC' side is EX, the 'Straighten Out' side has a 'dull' patcharea between about the 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock positions and also one very light surface mark ... plays fine and otherwise A-OK.
- OTHER DETAILS - an original 1977 UK 7" on the United Artists label, in Delga Press picture sleeve. A-1U / B-1U matrix numbers.
The sleeve has been signed at the bottom by three (I think) members:- Jet Black (bottom left, in black biro) and Hugh Cornwell (bottom right, in black biro). The third signature (in the middle in slightly smudged felt tip pen) is a bit of a mystery - it LOOKS like it might say Hugh Strangler, or maybe it's one of the other two members? This was part of my ex-wife's collection and she was a manic Stranglers fan who attended fan conventions etc., so I can vouch for it's authenticity. Maybe Hugh signed this twice, I can't say for sure.
A second point of interest is that the single has a SOLID centre - in my experience, these are far rarer than the four-pronged push-out centres that you normally get with this single.
Finally, I have a spare copy of this single, with the more common push-out centre and in a picture sleeve - the cover has some wear and a couple of small tears, but the vinyl is very nice. Anyway, I will include this single as a bonus FREE OF CHARGE to the winning bidder.
