Description:
Original UK late-1960s pressing of Straighten Up Volume 3 released on Pama Records.
A classic early UK reggae/rocksteady compilation from the legendary Pama label featuring a strong selection of vintage Jamaican sounds from the era including tracks by Roy Shirley & The Charmers, Denzil Dennis, U Roy, Owen Gray, Max Romeo, John Holt and Derek Morgan.
The vinyl grades a strong VG overall with glossy surfaces still retained and signs of careful previous play visible.
Playback is generally very enjoyable throughout with warm authentic analogue reggae sound, though some light background crackle and surface noise is audible in places during playback, entirely typical of many original reggae pressings from this era.
The sleeve itself also grades a solid strong VG example overall and retains its original laminated front cover.
There are various light laminate edge creases and general handling/storage marks visible around the sleeve from decades of use and storage, though overall presentation remains very respectable for its age.
Spine remains reasonably intact and legible overall.
An increasingly collectible early UK reggae compilation with particularly strong appeal to skinhead reggae, rocksteady and vintage Jamaican music collectors.
