DOMESTIC $5 PLUS $ 1 EACH INTERNATIONAL $ 21 PLUS $ 7 EACH Stormwind is another one of those pretty badass Teutonic traditional/speed metal bands of 1980’s. Not to be confused with the Swedish power metal band. This band has a classic speed metal sound akin to Saxon , Accept and/or Stormwitch. Other comparisons might include Crossfire and Picture. The band plays very rocking stuff with plenty of awesome riffs. Perhaps even more than average for this sort of material. Classic mid 80’s sound, strong recording quality and forceful Udo style vocals. It`s surprising they didn’t get more recognition. There were a lot of these Germanic heavy/speed metal bands around at the time. Many were about the same caliber and managed to make a name for themselves such as Krokus, Bullet, Faithful Breath, and even Bad Lizard to name just a few. These guys belonged in that group but only released one album. Tracks like ‘Evil’s Child’ and the awesome opener ‘Hard Sins’ are full of monster riffs that sound very comparable to Saxon. Seriously – the guitarist Wolla and Niko really churned out some classic and classy 80’s metal riffs here. With the vocals we get a strong Germnic tinge coming through in Klaus Klemm’s voice similar to Udo again threw the whole album. Truly one of the best German releases of the 80`s which was missed by everyone but a few. Easily few notches above a lot of the stuff you heard from this scene. Guitar skill is superior .
