STONE THE CROWS
Stone The Crows
Original UK LP released on Polydor Records in 1970. Gatefold sleeve.

Stone the Crows was a tough-luck, working class, progressive soul band that came out of the pubs of Scotland in the early '70s. They had everything going for them at the start: not one, but two gritty singers, a talented guitarist, a rhythm section that had played with John Mayall, and the name recognition of having Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant as their producer. Despite favourable reviews by the critics, however, they never managed to sell their hybridized soul music to a large audience. In addition, they lost two of their key members early on, one of whom was tragically electrocuted, and the group broke up after four albums.
Their biggest contribution to rock was the immense vocal talent of Maggie Bell.
---------------------------------------------------
A somewhat atypical debut rock release. Not only does the band deliver a soulful rendition of "Fool on the Hill," but a side-long track makes its appearance on side two. The tune is titled "I Saw America," and it pulls together the rock, blues, and soul elements that were splintered up on the first side.
Tracks Are :-
Side One
The Touch Of Your Loving Hand
Raining In Your Heart
Blind Man
The Fool On The Hill
Side Two
I Saw America (12:28)
Released on 'Polydor Records' in 1970

PAYMENT
I would appreciate payment within seven days of the auction’s end. If you want to bid on more of my auctions ending a week later please inform me. I will wait and issue a combined invoice at the close of the second week’s auctions.
However, I am no longer willing to carry combined transactions beyond two weeks and in these cases would appreciate payment promptly after the close of the second week’s auctions.
I am sorry to have to introduce these measures – I always try to be patient and allow buyers to bid on extra auctions and / or delay payment. Unfortunately some buyers have been stretching out transactions to unacceptable lengths so I feel I have no option but to limit ‘carried over’ transactions to two weeks.
