PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Long long gone & now scarce/hard to find = Original limited edition in triple THICK gatefold cover on the highly collected ROCKADELIC label...the mighty SHIVER - skull pounding '72 psychedelics ::::
Basically, San Francisco's Shiver were a bunch of hard-rocking hippie freaks, brought together by a Texas-bred drummer who moved to San Francisco to take up where his obvious heroes Blue Cheer left off. They soon had a rather rough, tough reputation, playing Haight street fairs and Hells Angels biker parties. At one point they even had a singer with an iron hook for a hand, which he could use as a slide for his guitar, or for more violent purposes. Shiver played "heavy psychedelic rock" at its most primal -- no overdubs, raw as hell.
If you ever searched for Blue Cheer mixed with MC5 combination, than this is it. Psychedelic guitar and dirty wailing of Blue Cheer combined with raw rhythm of MC5 will send you beyond third bardo. These guys aren't your regular psych band - these guys goes till the end. Mindblowing solos and improvisation ("Fixer", "Alpha Man", "Bone Shaker") within lengthy heavy rock psych tunes are signature of San Fran sound, and that's what these guys are delivering. Imagine just some San Fran local ballroom, full of hippies shaking around to these guys - awesome. Specatacular fuzzy intro to "Interstelar Vision" is your instant ticket to hazy, colorful trip. Jamming on this tune is full of handbanging rhythm and it's so beautiful. "Alpha Man" is alpha song of this whole album , with soothing intro that gradually reach it's climax after 5 minutes of song. Guitar echoing gives it another level of sweet tripiness. This track is over 14 minutes long and beacuse of it's epicness this is probably San Fran's "Voodoo Child". "Rocky Road" is blues-influenced groovy tune while "Keep On Rocking" is rooted in old-school Chuck Berry-like rock and roll. "Up My Sleeve" is aggresive rock tune, while "Winter Time" is similiar to slow tempoed version of "Alpha Man". Highly recommended to any psychedelic rock fan.
