Description
David Bowie pretty much discovered blues guitar genius Stevie Ray Vaughan. He saw him play in 1982, and by 1983, he played guitar on Bowie's mega-millions selling smash hit album 'Let's Dance'. SRV was asked to go on tour with Bowie, but he politely declined, saying he wanted to work on his own career. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's debut album was released in 1983, and it did really well. 1984 saw the release of his second studio album, and he called it 'Couldn't Stand the Weather'. That blues rock masterpiece gave us the hits "Cold Shot", the title track, and a Hendrix cover of "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)"! Stevie Ray, of course, was brother to Jimmie Vaughn of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and passed away in a plane crash in August of 1990.
CBS Records, by way of Epic, released 'Couldn't Stand the Weather' on a special, limited edition picture disc LP. Up for grabs today is a copy from almost FORTY years ago! In its original clear PVC jacket, with hype sticker. (The song titles are on the sticker, and nowhere on the album itself.) The artwork is great on the A side, and the back shadow pic is awesome, too! (RIP SRV. You were an amazing musician, and is still immensely missed to this very day!)
The vinyl pic disc looks pretty good, with only a few light surface marks that I can see, and one light scratch several inches long, on one side. (No deep gouges or heavy scuffs.) I wouldn't recommend playing this, as the older pic discs have quite a bit of surface noise, and usually sound terrible anyway. The jacket looks ok, with a nice split on one side, about 3 or 4 inches long. Other than that, it's still intact, and holding together well. A sweet SRV and Double Trouble collectible, from the 80s, and made to promote one of the best blues rock albums ever made!
I no longer ship worldwide. The costs are WAY too high, and we can't track the item after it leaves the States. It's not fair to US sellers, or worldwide buyers. I'm really sorry, and hope that all of our overseas friends understand. Please know that I don't make money on shipping. In fact sellers usually lose money on shipping, as eBay keeps a portion. But I pack well using sturdy cardboard mailers and this should arrive to you in great shape! Expedited shipping is available to anyone who wants it. Just choose that option when checking out.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Ask me about combined shipping when you make multiple purchases. If there are any problems once you receive your item(s), please give me a chance to make it right. MOST problems are easily resolved... Immediate payment if I accept your best offer, please. Also, if you try to make a seriously low-ball offer, it will automatically decline it. (REASONABLE offers usually get accepted.) Thanks for stopping by. Take care, and have a great day!
