1966  Capitol (rainbow)  T-70.003,  Original issue 1st pressing Canada Mono

Although absolutely no credits appear anywhere on the album's liner notes,  the mysterious 21 year-old Stéphanie (no last name) delivers an outstanding 12 tracks of accomplished chansons-pop-jazz with an awesome rythmic Latin and samba flavour ......and absolutely brilliant musicianship courtesy of one of Quebec's all-time best-kept secrets .....the genial Paul De Margerie (* This would be one of De Margerie's final recordings, made just months before his untimely suicide in '68)

(track listing and original album liner notes)

Ten superb covers of songs from established artists in Quebec (Ferland, Vigneault, etc) and France (Legrand, Ferrat, etc) along with two solid originals.

Nothing but highlights here, yet one of the album's stand-outs is no-doubt the oft-sampled and compiled Latin-tinged bomb "Avant Le Jazz"  (Listen:  HERE).

Long out-of-print, never re-issued......amazingly still unknown yet highly coveted.....but alas, impossibly rare !
