Description

STEELY DAN “GAUCHO” RARE 1st Day Of Release Promo. 1980 Masterdisc Robert Ludwig.


42+ year old original promo copy. Distributed the day of release to press and radio. Vinyl is NM, cover has some storage wear but is overall in VG+ condition. Gold Promotion Stamp on the front top middle of the cover. Inner sleeve is thick white glossy stock with black printing of credits and lyrics,there is some yellowing with age but totally intact. A remarkable first press copy!


The seventh studio album for Steely Dan, and the last before a 20 year hiatus. Nearly two years in the making, with personal and business drama mixed in. The wait and the strive for perfection paid off! The recording is immaculate, the songs have intricate jazz and rock arrangements. Cynical lyrics with hardly veiled drug references. It’s complicated, but the album is brilliant!
