Artist Name:  Stanley Cowell

Album Title:  MUSA - Ancestral Streams

Record Label:  Strata East   SES - 19743, (1974).

Inner Sleeve: Yes. White paper.

Grading Method: Play graded. Both sides played through on my system with no skips, groove lock or annoying surface noise.

Vinyl Condition: VG++ or better. Nice, glossy sheen, no deep scratches, chips or excessive groove wear. Very minor scuffs that had no affect on playback. Great sound reproduction with crisp tonal quality.

Label Condition: VG++, looks almost new.

Jacket/Cover Condition: VG+ . Very good, solid condition; no seam splits, tears, writing, or stains, only light shelf wear on edges. This is NOT a cut-out. There are NO drill holes, saw cut notches, or cut off corners.

Comments:   Nice record. A welcome addition to any Stanley Cowell or Jazz collection.

GRADING METHODS

Play Graded - All sides were actually played from start to finish.

Spot Checked - Short segments were played fron each track to check for sound quality. Record(s) were not played all the way through.

Visual Check - Records were checked for condition (under a strong light source) by sight only. No tracks were physically played.

GRADING CRITERIA

NEAR MINT: Vinyl should not have any visable signs of wear, or scratches. It should look like it was just removed from the jacket for the first time. Jacket/cover should not have any creases, bent corners, seam splits or cut-out holes.

VG+ : Vinyl has been played and may show some wear, including surface scuffs and some light hairline scratches, but there is little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Vinyl will not have any deep scratches or bad warps. Jacket/cover may have slight signs of wear such as light corner creases, minor shelf wear, small seam splits, and may have a cut-out hole or clipped corner. ( VG++ grade may be used to further define condition) .

VG : Vinyl will have deeper scratches and may show evidence of groove wear. Surface noise and some scratches may be heard during playing, but will not overpower the music. Labels may show wear or may have writing, stickers, tape or center hole wear. Jacket/cover may have split seams, tears, very noticeable ring wear, age spotting, writing, tape, or stickers.
