Description
STAN JOHNSON -- On The Banks Of Big Muddy -- ex. rare, original late 1960's (or early 1970's?) U.S. private press LP, still sealed/never opened in original shrink wrap. Stan Johnson is well known to die-hard Rockabilly fans for his monster 45's "Big Black Train" and "Baby Baby Doll" on Ruby which fetch astronomical prices. This is apparently the only album he ever put out, on Rite Records out of Cincinatti, Ohio (although the back cover also lists Ruby Records in the upper right.) Date seems to be late 1960's, and he includes the original versions of both "Big Black Train" and "Baby Baby Doll," here along with such unknown tracks as "Big Muddy," "Lora Ann," "Demand To Be Free" and others. Apparently his (much-younger) wife Cindy Dee also joins him on some of the tracks, she's pictured w/ guitar on the back cover as well. An extremely rare record that almost never comes up for sale -- buy it now before it's gone.
