Description
Absolutely gorgeous original copy of the classic Getz/Gilberto LP on Verve mono V-8545. This was the album that introduced the world to Astrud Gilberto and The Girl from Ipanema. Rare true first pressing with the white border. The disc is just beautiful and plays near flawlessly and just beautifully. You won’t even believe how beautifully this copy plays. The music on this record is quite quiet, so it really makes a big difference to have such a clean copy. There is only one tiny flaw, and that is there are two very light ticks at the very beginning of the their track on side one, Para Machuchar Meu Coracao. Just nearly. Otherwise absolutely no noise at all, not even the slightest crackle between songs. There are a few very light superficial scuffs but they don’t affect the play in the least except where I mentioned. Just a beautiful playing copy. The cover is also quite nice, with a bit of edge and corner wear, and light creasing at the top. See photos. But really a beautiful copy all around. Very hard to beat. And so wonderful to hear an original mono pressing.
