ITEM:    " Blossom Dearie ", self titled Jazz vocal LP. Original 1957 pressing on Deep Groove Verve label, catalog number MG V 2037, High Fidelity Mono. Featuring Ray Brown on Bass, Herb Ellis on Guitar, and Jo Jones on Drums. ORIGINAL, THICK VINYL -  NOT A RE-ISSUE, INFERIOR OVERSEAS PRESSING, OR A 180 GRAM REPRODUCTION.

COMMENTS / CONDITION:

This LP came from a private collection - it is not a beat up item bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was test played.

Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.

Visually the vinyl is in strong VG to VG+ Condition. There are no warps, deep scratches, or cracks. On close inspection under a bright light source, a number of scuffs and light scratch marks can be seen, which have minor effect on the playback and listening enjoyment of the music. On my older system, both sides played with good sound quality, with no harsh background noise, skips, or groove lock. There were occasional audible ( but not overpowering ) tics/pops/static.    NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.

Both deep groove labels are in good, clean condition with no peeling edges, rips, or writing. Spindle tracks are visible. The center hole is perfectly round and shows no signs of abusive playing.

The inner sleeve is white paper.

I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.

The cover is in VG condition, with no stickers, labels, price tags, cut-out drill holes, notches, or clipped corners. Ring / rub wear, and age yellowing are visible, mostly on the back cover A minor vertical crease line is visible on the front cover left side. There is a clean, full length split along the top seam, and chipping along the spine. The original retail price is written in pencil on the back panel top right corner. Photos and graphics are crisp and clear.
