Description
Available here is an original 12" first pressing LP by single by the Spontaneous Music Ensemble / S.M.E. - Live Big Band and Quartet. It was issued in Germany by Vinyl Records in 1979 and bears the catalogue number VS 0015.
Vinyl Condition - Very Good - The record is visually very bright and clean but bearing a single minute scratch. I’ve listened all the way through and there is no jumping or sticking but expect periodic clicks with a little background crackle/noise. The small scratch causes a few of the clicks but they’re almost lost in a rather cacophonous section of music. The centre label of the first side also bears a hand-written black felt-tip code, suggesting that the record originates from some sort of private library, although there are no other marks or labels anywhere.
Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Original laminated picture sleeve with a little wear/rubbing in places around the edges/corners. Plain white inner sleeve with polythene interior, which is probably original. Large pictures of both sides of the disc and sleeve are available on request.
History - Featuring Trevor Watts, Julie Tippetts, Ron Herman and John Stevens in the Quartet, with a much augmented Big Band, the music was recorded live at Notre Dame Hall, London in May 1971. Something of a rarity, the track listing is as follows …
