The auction is for both Shadoks releases of rare 60s psych by
THE SPOILS OF WAR:

1) THE SPOILS OF WAR, USA 1969 (SHADOKS MUSIC)
Limited to 450 copies ~ comes complete with 7" EP with sleeve

2)SPOILS OF WAR - 2 LP SET, USA 1968 / 1970 (SHADOKS MUSIC 033)
1 LP with studio recordings and 1 LP recorded live in 1967 / 68
Not 100% if this was limited, but, i assume it was the same as Shodoks 1st offering

CONDITION:
COVERS: EXCELLENT+ to MINT-
clean & sharp ~ tiny bump to lower right corner of double set release ~ 1st one still has shrink
VINYL: EXCELLENT+ to MINT-
LP vinyl looks totally blemish-free ~ EP has 2 very faint lite minor marks
i bought these directly from Germany years ago, when they were issued & so i can say that
they've only had 1 or 2 plays on them. The EP faint blemishes must have occurred at the point
of manufacture ~ or shipping ~ as i did not play the 7" at all

here's the review on the 1st release from Joynson's psych reference "Fuzz, Acid & Flowers:
Weird'n'wonderful sounds emanated from Urbana, Illinois in 1968 and 1969 thanks to this previously
unheralded assemblage. Whether any made it onto vinyl at the time is still unconfirmed - a likely outlet
would have been Roger Francisco's own RoFran label and publishing house which released some 45s,
including one by his earlier outfit The Prodigies.
The reissue contains a mixed bag of cerebral sounds - electronic collages interspersed or combined with
jazzy vibes, acid rock, and dreamy folk rock. Some highlights- Walk In, Walk Out opens with an electonic
barrage before turning to more standard fuzz-pysch with (for a change) good use of brass; the astounding
E-Thing could be a soundtrack to 'Apocalypse Now' - a backdrop of whining pulsing helicopter-like effects
onto which is etched a heavy acid jam; Rit Yellow Of The Sun builds to a delicious hispano-flavoured guitar
freakout then degenerates into fuzz and electronic mayhem.
This should appeal especially to fans of experimental or electronic psych by the likes of Fifty Foot Hose and the
United States Of America.
