First issue with matrix A//4 / B//3 and with run out groove inscription ‘Let The Brain Take The Strain’ and matt un-laminated sleeve.
This is a beautiful original 1973 1st UK issue on the Polydor label of this superb British Psych Folk rarity. UK acid folk albums don’t get much harder to find than this. It features Barbara Gaskin on vocals and Martin Cockerham on vocals and guitar with support coming from Steve Ashley (whistle), Steve Borrill (bass), John Boyce (Cello), Julian Cusack (piano and violin), Henry Lowther (trumpet), the legendary Dave Mattacks (drums) and Stan Sulzman (flute).
It’s a thoroughly engrossing record with echoes of Mighty Baby and similar boundary breaking bands from the same period.

This copy can only have been played once or twice. It belonged to a record company executive and has remained filed away for almost 40 years. The vinyl is simply superb and ‘as new’ and there would be no way of upgrading or bettering it. It still has its original full gloss sheen with no scratches and no hairlines. This is a perfect 1st issue copy.
The E.J. Day Group printed sleeve is in excellent condition. There are no tears or splits, there is no writing on the sleeve. There are two minor creases (approx 1.5 inches) in the bottom left hand corner on the front that are barely visible and one towards the bottom on the rear right hand corner. The rear left hand corner has some minor creasing too and there is some minor ring wear at the top on the front. The spine is perfect and aside from 3 further minor marks on the rear the sleeve is otherwise in excellent condition for its 39 years. I would grade this Ex ++ as it would be hard to improve upon.
The record labels are in mint condition. No writing, no spindle wear.
