Description
I will declare a lower amount on the customs form for all countries so as to avoid/decrease high import charges. However, in the case of the EU all purchases are subject to VAT which eBay collect at point of sale. No shipping to Russia currently.
Spirogyra : Old Boot Wine A-1U / B-2U 1st Press Pegasus 1972
This first pressing plays to a very high standard with hardly any interference. In all honesty the word interference is too strong for the background here - there are only some light statics, a couple of minor ticks and only a few seconds of very light static. No intrusive ticks, clicks or pops anywhere. The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is superb and as always I have played every track in full so as to provide a 'complete' grade. The vinyl itself is in excellent condition also and has only been lightly played.
The fully textured E.J. Day cover has some shelf wear but this is mainly restricted to the edges and corners, nothing too major though. The inner sleeve, unlikely to be the original, is in superb condition.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a few faint hairlines which have no affect on the audio. There is no groove or surface wear and the Pegasus labels are very clean with only very minimal spindle wear.
Play Grading
The intro on 'Dangerous Dave' plays perfectly and the opening vocal section from Gaskin and co has no intrusion either. Stunning clarity so far! The first chorus is just as strong and clear and I only noticed one barely audible static as it finishes and I do mean barely audible! From then on it plays with a clarity and depth that cannot be faulted - even the quieter mid vocal section is nigh on perfect with only a couple of mega quiet statics again. The concluding instrumental is 'as new' I cannot praise it highly enough. This has to grade as Mint- and even the minus could be considered a little harsh.
The very quiet 'Van Allen's Belt' begins perfectly and it's only at the end of the first verse and during the first chorus that there is a little intermittent static. However, it is so quiet and is totally non-intrusive and I only mention it because it's there! Intermittent like I say, not persistent. From then on it plays beautifully with only a couple of minor statics - the piano solo a case in point, the playback is flawless as is the final vocal. Near Mint- is fair.
'Runaway' is as close to perfect as could be with only a small number of minor background statics. I call them statics because they are not loud enough to classify as ticks! Gaskin's vocal towards the end is the highlight here, it plays with wonderful clarity. This track is Near Mint
'Grandad' is another quiet number and again there are no clicks or pops and only a minimal amount of light statics which are clearly non-intrusive. Superb violin work from Cusack this also grades as Near Mint
The intro on 'Wings Of Thunder' has no background and the opening vocal section has just one barely audible tick, you could easily miss it as is so so quiet! The following chorus is 'as new' and it continues to play with impeccable quality. Every vocal and instrumental section plays with exceptional clarity and definition and for a final track the sonic quality is stunning. Mint-

The quiet intro and opening vocal on 'World's Eyes' play so clearly with only one minor tick and the following repetitive vocal play perfectly. This high end standard is kept up as it progresses - there is barely any background and the clarity of sound is stunning. A handful of light statics and just one very brief crackle sound about two minutes in but again there are no clicks or pops. You can see where the term progressive folk came from because this track exemplifies it! With many varying sections the sonic quality is superb and overall Near Mint- is deserved.
'Don't Let It Get You' has some a small number of light statics / static ticks on the intro and first part opening vocal and as Mattacks comes in there is barely any background. In fact from this point on the clarity and depth of the audio is superb and there is literally nothing getting in the way not even on the long fade out. I will grade the opening section as Ex and the rest of the track is Mint- at the very least.
The gentle percussive opening on 'Disraeli's Problem' plays with perfect clarity as does the rest of the intro. It then plays with stunning precision through every vocal and instrumental section. I 'picked up' only a couple of mega quiet statics that hardly require a mention but I will grade as Mint- accordingly. The very quiet acoustic intro on 'A Canterbury Tale' plays so clearly and the opening vocal section has only the bare minimum of light static for a few seconds, nothing to worry about at all! Gaskin's first vocal is flawless and it continues to play with genuine quality. Again for a final track the clarity and definition is so impressive, in other words you wouldn't know it was the final track if you see what I mean! Easily a Near Mint version.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The textured E.J. Day cover is in excellent overall condition with only a little shelf wear. The edges have some rubbing and there is a very small 'split' on the bottom edge by the right hand corner. The thin spine also has some wear / rubbing but aside from that mentioned it is very clean. The other corners have only minimal wear and the opening edge has hardly any handling wear. The front cover has just a little ringwear marking near the top and the back cover is totally unmarked. You can only see some rubbing on the corners and edges. I was going to say Ex- but perhaps VG+ is closer. As Discogs says this is a very thin and fragile cover!
The inner sleeve is in superb condition with only minimal creasing but I very much doubt it is the original as it is dated 9/80 on one side. It's a poly-lined Decca one.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
