Description
Here we have a real monster rarity of the UK Progressive Folk Rock genre, Bells, Boots & Shambles by Spirogyra on the Polydor label number 2410 246, released in 1973. The group was made up of Barbara Gaskin (who had a number one hit with Dave Stewart a few years back with It's My Party) and Martin Cockerham who composed it all. There is also the presence of Dolly Collins enhancing the oeuvre. The sleeve is in excellent order and the spine is clearly legible. The printers were a bit mean with the glue so this has come unstuck but I will fix that before sale with a few dabs of Gorilla Glue. This has now been done. The vinyl is in VG+ condition; there is a thin scratch on the first track from halfway in to the end of the track and it can be heard. The are also odd pops here and there which I put down to little bits of dirt in the grooves. I don't have a special cleaner so I can't do anything for that but it really would benefit from this process. This really is an enchanting album and absolutely as rare as Hen's Teeth. Not many copies of this about although it's been reissued on different labels a few times. Rest assured, this is the original edition. Resisting this album as the buyer in the Far East objected to the scratch but was quite happy with the rest of it. This will be send track and trace, signed for to ensure delivery. Come and have a look.
