THIS RARER MONO PRESSING WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED AT THE TIME OF RELEASE IN 1969. HARDLY PLAYED AND WHEN, ALWAYS ON A QUALITY TURNTABLE. TODAY THIS RECORD STILL PLAYS THROUGHOUT WITH  A REMARKABLY CLEAN SOUNDING AUDIO FROM START TO FINISH, AND COMES COMPLETE WITH IT'S ORIGINAL "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" DIE-CUT INNER SLEEVE, LATER ISSUES WERE HOUSED IN CBS ADVERTISING SLEEVES.  

THE SECOND SPIRIT ALBUM, THE GROUP PUT ALL OF THE ELEMENTS TOGETHER THAT MADE THEM THE LEGENDARY BAND THAT THEY WERE, JAZZ, ROCK & ROLL, AND EVEN CLASSICAL ELEMENTS COMBINED TO CREATE ONE OF THE CLEANEST, MOST TASTEFUL SYNTHESES OF ITS DAY. THE GROUP HAD ALSO IMPROVED MEASURABLY FROM THEIR FINE DEBUT ALBUM, ESPECIALLY IN THE AREA OF VOCALS. THE ALBUM'S HIT SINGLE, "I GOT A LINE ON YOU," HAS STRONG HARMONIES AS WELL AS ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK RIFFS OF THE PERIOD. CONDITION:

SLEEVE: EXCELLENT

The sleeve has no splits, and just a few light creases. The untreated back shows some light age related colouration.

INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT

The early Patents Applied For inner sleeve is in great condition other than some light storage creases, no splits, or marking to either side.

LABLES: EXCELLENT+

Both 1st press orange CBS mono labels are clean, with a few light spindle line between the pair.

VINYL VISUAL: NEAR MINT

As mentioned before the vinyl although played, was always handled with care, and played on a quality turntable, and so today the surfaces still have the look of be just pressed. Unmarked appearance in normal lighting, bright light reveals just a few extremely fine sleeve lines.     

AUDIO: NEAR MINT

Test played using a Mono stylus, the album delivers clean sounding audio throughout, some brief light isolated static ticks these occasional, but this copy has no surface/background noise from being overly played. Being a Mono press it does noticeably has a slightly different "if not a better uncluttered quality" of sound in comparison with my stereo pressing.

The photos within this advertisement are of the record offered for sale. I do not use stock images or previously used photographs.

This record has been checked visually both under normal daylight and under a strong under halogen spot-lamp. Every record I sell has been checked for its audio quality and played through completely on both sides. I check to ensure that they are flat on the rotating turntable.

I grade all records using The Record Collectors grading system, visually grading the vinyl surfaces, labels, inner sleeve and cover, adding a single (+Plus) if I believe the quality is slightly better (- Minus) if slight under.

I take great care in the dispatch of records and only use strong cruciform packaging. Every record is placed within a new poly-lined inner before its dispatch to you. The vinyl and sleeve are separated to decrease the likelihood of damage to sleeves. I can offer combine postage for two records for the same cost as sending one.

The Record Collectors Grading System

MINT: The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra Items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover suffers from folding scuffing of edges, of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
