Audition disc..labels say only "Spike Jones Show" with no further information, no date, no source, no intended purpose. 33RPM 16-inch aluminum transcription disc. 30 minute program announced as SPIKE JONES CONCERT HALL. Spike plays classical disc jockey and introduces serious recorded music with his usual gags, assisted by Dick Morgan and a couple of other City Slickers. Canned laughter and applause (very obvious), abrupt end to side 1 and beginning of side 2 indicate that a few copies were probably made from one tape by an overworked engineer. Transcribed by Universal Recorders in Hollywood, probably early 50s. Disc E-, most of the label missing from side 2. Likely very rare.
