SOUND '62: RARE STAN KENTON / USAF 3 Record Set on Private Label- COMPLETE EX+

Offered is a quite rare release from the inventive Jazz Man Stan Kenton, in collaboration with (oddly) The United States Air Force Reserve.

Sound '62  is a 3 LP album released around 1962 on a private label, and consequently has no catalogue number. It is a compiliation of tracks that were played in radio spots promoting the Air Force Reserve (please see the photos of the included tracks that appear on the inside of the set's cover).

The Vinyl is generally in quite excellent condition on all 3 of the separate LPs, all surfaces showing minimal playtime with little spindlewear, bright blue labels and all of their original gloss.

The LP labels are not distinguished with separate numbers, so here is the grading of each following the order in which the track are listed on the inside cover:

LP # 1 :  EX+ :  Present are a few small hairline marks.

LP # 2 :  NM :  There are no marks.

LP # 3 :  EX+ :  There are a few hairline marks and some paper rubs from the original paper inner sleeve.

The Album Cover  grades at  EX.  It is a book-style gatefold, and is comprised of a heavier cardboard stock that shows some minor age-related yellowing around the edges on the predominantly white background. There is a plastic record holder attached to the inside of the cover (3 triangles- see photos) to house the LP's, and one triangle is detached (I will include it with the mailing). There is also some paper loss in the middle of the spine- however the spine is intact. There is no writing, staining or dirt.

I have replaced the original generic paper inner sleeves with heavier audiophile sleeves (plastic-lined) that will better protect the superb condition of the LPs. Also included is the original letter from the Air Force Reserve that accompanied the set (see photo) with Track credits.

Stan Kenton served in the Air Force Reserve. Don't miss this opportunity to acquire one of his most rare releases.
