Do you like music that is murky, dark, with a slow rhythm and no small sense of menace?
Do you find yourself awake at 3am, possibly sober, possibly not sober, and in need of some Gospel Truths to get you through the night?
Do you simply like quality, original music that knows its roots?

Then The Soulsavers are for you!

Suffice to say, if you're looking at this listing then you know what it's all about. Soulsavers with the mighty Mark Lanegan bringing you some kickass tunes and melancholic moments over four sides of magnificently mastered heavyweight wax. Rock fans should know Lanegan from his work with Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age, Isobel Campbell, Bomb The Bass, Greg Dulli (The Gutter Twins) and many more. This album features original tunes by Soulsavers and Lanegan, plus several covers, including tracks by Neil Young and The Rolling Stones - but in radically different versions. The music and culture geeks will spot the album's references to Bill Hicks, Charles Bukowski and Peter Bogdanovich.

Bought in Dublin when it was originally released in 2007, this album has been played only twice on
a high-end audiophile turntable, a Project Debut III, handled very carefully each time and replaced back into the packaging. It did not come in shrink wrap. The photos you see are the first time I have taken the vinyl out in years. I know, I get worried when I see eBay sellers taking out vinyl records and taking photos of them. You see people putting them on carpets, even floorboards. Crazy! As you can see, I have not done that and kept any handling to an extreme minimum.

The sleeve is in excellent condition, with a very slight crease at the top of the front cover. The inner sleeves are as they came, basically mint. Lovely heavy quality card, with brilliant design and colours throughout. Each disc label has its own unique design art. This is a really well-thought-out package, displaying all the care and attention to detail that the Soulsavers are renowned for. Anyway, the whole package is simply beautiful to behold. I hope my photos convey this.

The one odd thing about this pressing is that it does not contain the final track that appears on the CD version, the instrumental End Titles. Don't ask me why. Nonetheless, good copies of this album are now selling for over £100 online; it seems to have been quite a limited pressing, and as I mention, it comes in a delicious package.

FREE BONUS DISC is the Limited Edition UK 10" pressing of Kingdoms Of Rain. Heavyweight vinyl, played once. Heavy card sleeve with original artwork, slight scuff at the top of the front, a few signs of wear and tear on the back. Otherwise EX. Lovely original artwork for each label on the vinyl. I think there were only 500 copies of this released.

I have had an eBay account for more than ten years, and am in good standing. I have not been selling or buying very much in the last three or four years, mostly due something called a baby. They do take up one's time. Plus I thought it'd be good to sell off a few valuable and much-loved records before they get attacked by a child's hands, covered in jam - or worse!

PAYMENT & SHIPPING:
I will accept Paypal for North American orders. For UK buyers, I prefer bank transfer. For buyers from certain EU countries, I will accept IBAN/BIC payment. I will supply bank details upon final sale. I regretfully cannot sell to several parts of the world, please see the exclusion list.

This item will weigh more than 1kg, so I will calculate shipping costs upon final sale.

** INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING MUST BE FIRST CLASS & TRACKED. UK POSTAGE MUST BE FIRST CLASS. **

The album will be carefully protected and shipped in thick cardboard, and I will make sure that it will not bend at the edges if dropped while being shipped. This is a great concern among serious LP collectors and I completely empathize. It is no fun to buy an LP and discover the seller has skimped on the packaging, leaving you with a tarnished purchase.

Please feel free to ask me ANY questions about this very rare album.

Thanks for viewing and I hope the buyer of this album gets many years of soulful enjoyment from it. Happy bidding!

PS - quick Soulsavers story that I haven't shared online before: in 2009 they were touring their brilliant Broken album with Mark Lanegan. I'm a huge Lanegan fan - that's how I came across Soulsavers. When a Depeche Mode concert was announced in Dublin, I thought about going but wasn't inclined to spend €70 on a ticket. The DM gig sold out. Later, the support act was announced. It was... SOULSAVERS AND MARK LANEGAN! Argh! What to do? In the days counting down to the gig, I messaged Soulsavers on MySpace (remember that?). I gave my story, and very politely asked that if there was any chance of getting a ticket, guestlist - anything. Imagine my surprise that on the day of the concert, at 5pm, I managed to get time in work to check my personal email and lo and behold - a message from Soulsavers' Rich Machin offering me two free tickets to the show. What a gentleman. I was blown away, excited - and terrified - because they were due on at 7pm. Racing home, I grabbed my partner, our bikes and we legged it into town, managing to get our tickets and see Lanegan sing with the Soulsavers. Whole band was decked out in dark suits and breathing total coolness. They were truly awesome and even impressed the diehard Mode fans. What a night. Anyway, that's a wee story for you, all thanks to a polite request and a very, very gracious response. Civility has its rewards.
