BOOGALOO FOR YOU / SOUL BOUND TO SOUL SOUND ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by SOUL SOUND vocals by CHUPY LAFOUR & THE HARBOURLIGHTS produced by JOHN PAAY. Original Italian promo pressing on the HELP! label (ZH 50163), from 1971. Super-obscure, mod R&B / northern soul / new breed style funk double-sider. Seems to be a little known group from the Rotterdam - Dutch underground. Both sides have that infectious mod soul sound with booming horn section / raw basslines / Mohawks cum reggae skinhead style funky hammond / breaks and big vocals. Think Davy Jones & The Voodoo Funk Machine (but better ;) Great for DJs. Super-loud production. Our soundclip opens with a sample of the funky B-Boy breaks from BOOGALOO FOR YOU followed by the frantic hammond soul and vocals of SOUL BOUND TO SOUL SOUND then the full version of the new breed-esque / uptempo popcorn of BOOGALOO FOR YOU with its killer B-boy congas and horn riffs midway onwards. This elusive single has flown under the radar of collectors in general but has also gone nuts on past auctions with those who know it. Released in Italy on the same cult label as The Revelations Italian Library (aka Oscar Lindok studio project). Superb artwork sleeve showing this multi-racial band. Seldom comes up for sale now and our copy is the desirable promo issue ;) Very rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall regardless of the pressing shadow marks across 2 small sections of the intro area on the " Soul Bound..." side and a few mini scuffs marks near the outro of the same side. Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. Item looks hardly played. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition with a little ring creasing / ring dirt marks and some natural age discoloration from storage. Some wear to front bottom right corner area (front and back). Very rare 45!!!
