SCRATCH MY BACK (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE SOUL SCRATCHERS aka EL CHICLES or PLUS undercover (?) Original 1st Belgium pressing on the PINK ELEPHANT label (PE 22 695 Y), from 1972. Still practically unknown and ultra sleazy funk item recorded at the Roland Kluger RKM studio with possibly the best hip hop beats on Ebay right now ;) Killer boom bap / breakbeat drum patterns on both SCRATCH MY BACK versions that completely destroy anything on the legendary Dusty Fingers compilations. Stoned El Chicles fender rhodes and basslines / trippy mystical flute riffs / seashells shakers and other exotic percussion / heavy breathing and slinky guitar hooks. Just choose your side. Stunning head-nodding rhythms with a groove to die for. Great for DJs. SCRATCH MY BACK part 2 is an alternative jazzy dub version. One of the hottest euro funk singles of them all. BBoy paradise, for sure. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M- overall) with some hairlines. Light surface noises but all known copies seem to have this so most probably the actual pressing. The fragile thin, laminated fold-out picture sleeve is in VG+ condition with general creasing from storage. Natural age discoloration. Very rare 45!!!
