SONNY CLARK ”Sonny’s Crib” Blue Note RVG, DG, P, LAM, BLP 1576 mono Vinyl

This is RVG-stamped, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, “P” pressing of SONNY CLARK's "Sonny's Crib" on the "47 West 63rd New York 23” labels of Blue Note BLP 1576. Musicians include Sonny Clark – piano, Donald Byrd – trumpet, Curtis Fuller – trombone, John Coltrane - tenor saxophone, Paul Chambers – bass, Art Taylor – drums.

VINYL plays with consistent low-level to medium-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks (some repeating). But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full tone. NO distortion. NO skips. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, 1 or 2 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd New York 23” labels generally clean, show wear and spindle marks. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in lovely shape, shiny and clean. Shows normal wear, corners worn. Spine and lower seam nearly perfect, top seam shows cracking and small split at opening. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd New York 23” back jacket shows aging, some wear. Please see photos.

     

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
