Description
Volume One. In 1985 artist Keith West was introduced to George Harrison and so began a close collaboration to produce a stunning set of watercolours illustrating the composers many memorable songs. The book is number 1060/2500 copies, each one is signed by Harrison and hand-bound in beautiful black 3/4 leather with gild tooling, presented in a hand-made solander box, individually numbered and personally autographed by Harrison and West. A 7" vinyl record housed in a sliding drawer inside the 2-tray solander box, contains previously unreleased material. The method of production entailed the completion of detailed pencil studies after careful discussion on all the lyrics. Keith, one of the finest botanical watercolour artists in the world, soon found himself travelling regularly from his cottage in North Wales to Oxfordshire to discuss with George the interpretations of his song lyrics in order to prepare the illustrations for this volume. To complement these delightful images the artist has hand-lettered the words to the songs. The lyrics are embellished with additional small paintings that possess an irresistible charm. Volume Two. The book includes 59 further songs by George Harrison, beautifully illustrated in rich colours by Keith. Volume Two contains such classics as ‘I Me Mine’, ‘My Sweet Lord’, ‘Something’ and ‘All Things Must Pass’.
