"SOMETHING ELSE" - Cannonball Alderley and Miles Davis. Blue Note STEREO ST 81595 A Better Record 'HOT STAMPER Used. LP is EXC+ Cover NM is still in shrink wrap, pretty much zero spindle marks or wear see photos.
Anyone who owns a BR "Hot Stamper" probably already knows their ratings are not always accurate. I bought this LP for well over $200 + and it showed a A +++ for sonics on side 1 and A++ side 2, condition though actually is more like EXC+. Sonis are great but it was not +++ for condition Side 1 has very slight tic during the first minute of Autumn Leaves, is all that I can really note, but overall the LP DOES sound fantastic and spacious for a Blue Note original. Even though they claim their cleaning process is complete, I do my own cleaning. Has been 'Miracle Record Cleaner' cleaned, separate distilled rinsed and Nitty Gritty vacuumed dried....rice sleeve.
As a hobbyist, NOT a record dealer, starting to sell my 45 year+ collection, mostly mint- condition, EXC + at worst and will notate. Over the years ALL my LPs have been DD 'Miracle Record Cleaner’ hand brush cleaned/rinsed with 2 separate brushes plus machine dry. … a detailed 3-step process… not easy or quick but well worth it even with new pressings to remove mold release compounds. All around for the best sound IMO.
- Every record sold had the full 'Disc Doctor’ brand Miracle Record Cleaner cleaning, unless sealed. (now sold/distributed by Acoustic Sounds in Salina, KS) Seperate purified water rinsed, separate water brush, then Nitty Gritty machine vacuumed dried.... the best way to really clean an LP. Most of my collection has only been played one or twice. Since all have been hand and machine cleaned, no further cleaning is required, just a carbon fiber brush is really all that’s needed to keep light dust away.
- Records are shipped in a padded 13 x 13 x 1 record mailer with the LP housed outside the sleeve but inside a rice sleeve.
