SOLEIL MASQUE FRENCH LIBRARY Lp by ALAN MAC WILLIAMS / TIPSY (aka Yves De Roubaix and Jean Claude Boeraeve) / RECREATION ROAD (aka Serge Franklin) / THE PLANK'S (aka Tony Bonfils & Michel Delaporte) and THE BOSS MUSIC (aka J.C. PIERRIC). Original French pressing on SOLEIL MASQUE label (SMA 33003), from circa 1971. Killer Library session, actually a label showcase for these cult French composers and little known studio groups. Psychedelic mood music with lots of funky beats / breaks and sleazy rhythms from trippy underground rock and oriental psych to fuzz drenched strange pop / Brazilian tinged groove and hippie lounge with spacey synthesizer motifs. Our soundclip opens with the stoned B-boy funk and drum breaks of LET ME TRY IT followed by the male scat samba MADIERA with infectious 'popping' percussion / the JP Massiera influenced pop electronique insanity of ECLIPSE with freaky studio FX / the fuzz distortions of J.C Pierric's Kitten Kind and Les Delta Sound / Alan Mac Williams mellow funk of PLASTIC THEME and other ecclectic funky themes. Great for DJs. A real period piece. Inspired, label design with esoteric and counter-culture references. Rare Library Lp!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with some light hairlines. Some faded old pressing residue marks and light surface noises in places but most probably the actual pressing. The laminated sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with some corner and edge wear (mostly to the top left spine area and bottom left corner). Natural age discoloration / a few dings and or crease lines to edges from storage. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library Lp!!!
