An original and engrossing example of Progressive Folk with an occasional psychedelic flavour most pronounced on the two stand out tracks. "The Sky is Crying" is a thrilling concoction that opens to the sound of a raging storm before some powerful fuzz guitar carries a stunning melody with angst ridden lyrics. The title song "For Those Alone" utilises similarly evocative sound effects to create a suitable backdrop for another desolate ballad within a psychedelic framework again fashioned by exemplary guitarwork
