RARE ORIGINAL
- EARLY 1969 PRESSING (PROBE - PINK LABEL) - ... SOFT MACHINE ...
- "VOLUME TWO" -
This is a private sale - from my own, personal, collection - I am not a record dealer. Sadly I have long mislaid my 'The Soft Machine' (No.1) (Steve, I know you've still got it!) - but I will be selling
the rest of my treasured early 'Softs' collection over the next week or two.
But here's 'Volume Two' for starters.
'Volume Two' comes as a single 'flipback' sleeve album (laminated colour cover and non-laminated B&W reverse), with its memorable Goto/Epstein cover.
It plays well on my unforgiving Bang & Olufsen turntable - no clicking scratches ruining the ambience.
Some spitting and crackling of course as the stylus runs in and runs out - but still above average quality for its age.
Time to let it go - to someone, somewhere - who can now hear it - and make better use of it - than me.
TECH SPEC! ...

TRACKLIST
Too extensive to list here ... so please see my images !
CONDITION - The Flipback Album Sleeve Flipback means full colour (and laminated) on front cover - and black and white (unlaminated) on the reverse.
(A record cover technique introduced in the 50's ... an economy of sorts). Front in very good condition - with no gouges, cuts, rips, writing, stickers or whatever.
A little bruising to the leading edge corners, and some shrinkage of the laminate ... ... otherwise an impressive, clean, shiny, example. Rear shows mild indication of typical abrasion against other albums - but free of other marks, gouges, writing, etc.
CONDITION - The Paper Inner Sleeve See image. Has discoloured somewhat around the edges - with two small 'knife cuts' on the inner and bottom leading edge. But still serviceable.
CONDITION - The Vinyl In excellent condition ("Very Good Plus") condition. All surfaces have always been kept carefully cleaned and (as humanly possible) kept dust-free.
Under scrutiny of my 'natural light' task lamp, there are no scratches - simply minor flecks - but I believe
these are typical 'cosmetic' / manufacture vinyl marks.
Having play-tested all sides and can report a flaw-free performance: no skips, scratches or anything to spoil the enjoyment. Just the typical ambient hiss and crackle as the needle touches down ...
CONDITION - The Record Labels All are in perfect condition (I've shown them all in my images) and reveal few, if any, drunken spindle marks.
OVERALL CONDITION and 'SIGN OFF' ... I have described the content and condition of this item honestly and in good faith ... ... in order that you can be sure that there are no nasty surprises !
I am not a record dealer, as I have said, but I have been strictly guided by the Discogs 'Goldmine Standard' grading, by my own visual inspection and by my own test-playing.
Simply and finally:
The VINYL - I would describe as VERY GOOD (plus)
The ALBUM COVER - I would describe as VERY GOOD to VERY GOOD (plus)
