SOA State of Alert 7" EP Dischord #2  3rd Pressing MINT

DESCRIPTION: Absolutely MINT condition copy of 3nd pressing of S.O.A. (State of Alert)'s "No Policy" 10-song 7" EP, released in April 1981. Dischord No. 2.  Only 1,000 copies made of 3rd pressing.  Black vinyl record, red labels, in white paper inner sleeve, housed in black & white paper sleeve.  Record includes folded lyric sheet.   
 S.O.A. consisted of Henry Garfield (later Rollins) on vocals, Mike Hampton on guitar, Wendel Blow on bass, and Simon Jacobsen on drums.  Henry had been friends with Ian MacKaye for several years, and he helped roadie for The Teen Idles before deciding to form his own band.  When the Teen Idles broke up and posthumously released a 7" EP as Dischord No. 1, it was a race between Henry and Ian to see whose band could put out the next record.  Henry won, and his band SOA put out Dischord No. 2 using money Henry earned from managing a Haagen Dazs ice cream store where he and Ian worked.  Ian's (and my) new band Minor Threat wasn't too far behind, though, with Dischord No. 3 released only 2 months later.
  Not too many months after the SOA record was released, the great California punk band Black Flag asked Henry to sing for them, which he did for many years, and the rest is history!
 This S.O.A. record has 8 songs: "Lost in Space", "Draw Blank", "Girl Problems", "Blackout", "Gate Crashers", "War Zone", "Riot", "Gang Fight", "Public Defender", and "Gonna Have to Fight." Produced by Skip Groff. Engineered by Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia (on 4-track tapedeck, in the basement of his house). 
The record up for auction here is a copy of the 3rd pressing, which is identifiable by the following characteristics.
- Black vinyl 
- Band name on label, finally (1st & 2nd pressings did not have band name on labels)
- Black Flag bars drawn on Henry's bicep
- Dischord address changed from Rockville, MD address to DC address, done to mimic the drawn-over typewriting used on original artwork.  (2nd pressing cover has Dischord's DC address, but it is in my block-printed handwriting, with no attempt to mimic the drawn-over typewriting).
- 2nd version of lyric sheet, handwritten (again, by a 19-year old me) with "S.O.A. RIP" in several places.
CONDITION / PROVENANCE:  This record is in absolutely mint condition, and has been kept in a plastic sleeve away from light and dust since it was made 30 years ago.  
This record has never been played.  Good luck finding another copy in such pristine condition.  This record is unconditionally guaranteed to be original, from 1981.  It comes from my (Jeff Nelson - Minor Threat/Dischord Records) punk archives, which are being downsized after continuing to be described as "too big" and "insane" or containing "more than my potential kids or grandkids will ever want."  Please see my auction for lots of other punk/hardcore flyers and records as well as other jetsam I'll be putting up for sale......
